Gasoline in Colorado has ethanol added to it. When ethanol is mixed with gasoline, and then left to sit for a long period of time, it separates from the gasoline and binds with water. This becomes a deadly mixture affecting rubber, plastic tubes, and the engine itself. If you have ever smelled spoiled gasoline, the most appropriate word I can think of to describe it, is ‘LETHAL’. One of the techs spilled some in the service bay and I could not get rid of the smell for weeks. At first, I thought it might be permanent.
